Algate,
You can bring up names all you like but for now rice is the bollocks and brilliant to see the best young (English/Irish)in the league playing and enjoying his time at West Ham.
We all know if he continues the way he is he'll go to the very top.
I for one am enjoying him maturing and improving at a pace wearing our jersey.

We were the dominant team with the better quality players despite our injury list. The only time they looked in the game was after we scored and adopted a more conservative approach. The last half hour flattered them but we were still in control.

Remarkable to see how the mismanagement of resources has led to their fall.

Re: West Ham v Arsenal - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
We were by far the better team.

Arsenal had chances but were dreadful until Ramsey ( who they are selling ) came on.

Fancied us when saw the starting lineups.
I couldn’t recognise half the arsenal team

Without their front two they would be a mid table team at best

Probably worst Arsenal team / performance seen at our place for years. I assume an off day as they lots of points but was shocked how bad they were.

We won every tackle and looked good in attack.

Rice was man of match by a mile. Let’s enjoy him while we can because if he continues his rate development then Barcelona will want him to replace Busquets.

Woolwich weren't all over us at all. We more than matched them. I fucking love you Pell.

Comparing rice to busquets is about right - the Spaniard was a player any team in the world would love to have

Superb day in private box for this . Free food / beer and got to meet Steve Lomas and John Moncur . Martin Allen was also about but looked like he might kill anyone who approached !

Apart from when Iwobi got free on the left and shot past the far post I’m not sure Arsenal created many clear chances.
Rices header and Anderson’s shot when he ran onto to the Nasri lay-off were better chances.
They brought on their best two midfielders Ramsey & Torreira (arrogance not to start them) and came into the game but we held them pretty well.

You can't spin it any other way:

Either we're a good day and served them a new one on a plate, or a good team because we played poorly and still picked up 3 points.

Keep this up and even I may take in a game at the LS when I'm next back in the UK.

They much better when Ramsey came on but we managed to contain them and scored a goal that won us the game they were very poor first-half and we deserved the win

That's as maybe Ron regarding the second half.
They turned up the second half but overall we were the better side and picked up a well deserved 3 points.
Arsenal can fuck off.

"I don't usually watch MOTD but I did tonight. I didn't realise how much arsenal pissed all over us. Very lucky to get a win based on the highlights"

That would be a fair representation of the balance of the game.
For most of the second half we dropped deep, and yet somehow still had their players turning up unmarked all over the shop.

Rice not a header fuck knows where that come from,I was walking back to my seat when he scored.
Sold upton parks long gone unfortunately but it was day to remember beating Arsenal at Stratford loads of smiling faces and packed boozers after.
You should give it a go,it's good when we beat London rivals.

In how he plays Rice reminds me of Scott Parker but without the finishing. Calm, and breaks things up, simple distribution done swiftly and efficiently but until today, no goals. Let's hope it becomes a regular part of his game.

Carrol has a massive part to play in the rest of the season, good to see him play a key role in seeing out the game today.

It seems that the franglais-named Un eye is a worthy successor to Wenger, when it comes to not spotting that his side was outclassed
